Botox Treatment

What is Botox?

Botox is a protein derivative, which when injected into a muscle makes it inactive or weak.

How does it work?
The creases on the face are formed by excessive use of particular facial muscles. Most of them are classed as dynamic wrinkles and these muscles can be injected into to weaken them temporarily, in effect relaxing those wrinkles.

Is Botox Safe?

If used appropriately – yes.

How long will it take to show effect?
Mostly over 3-4 days but can take up to 2 weeks.

Would the treatment need repeating?
The effect starts fading away in 3-4 months. Hence it is recommended that one should have 3-4 treatments in their 1st year.

What happens during your treatment?

At your 1st consultation, based on your expectations, we agree on the treatment plan. This can be delivered on the same day or we can book a mutually convenient time to proceed.

What is the procedure?
It takes about 20-30 minutes and botox is injected in minute amounts with a very fine needle. This treatment is not considered painful by most patients.

What are the risks of Botox?

Botox has proven safe over a number of years with minimal side effects. It can cause slight redness, bruising and swelling at the site of injection. Occasionally, temporary drooping of the eyelid may occur. Please consult your GP or us as soon as possible if that happens. If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother, this treatment is not recommended.
